Finals in Cologne: from 20 to 22 January, the final round of a competition on Asset Liability Management (ALM) was held at DEG. To train the staff of banks in developing and emerging-market countries, DEG, in cooperation with the Dutch development finance institution FMO, had organised this competition. more

Promoting Climate Protection

A focus of DEG's activities

Investmens that promote climate protection, use renewable energy and ensure energy-efficient production: an especially relevant subject allover the world, given the huge increase in energy needs and the threat to the environment. In 2007 and 2008 alone, DEG has provided EUR 185 million for, among others, hydro-electric and wind power plants in Africa, Asia and Latin America. DEG plans to expand its involvement in climate protection even further in the upcoming years. more
