With our financing, we enable infrastructure projects in the following sectors:

We provide tailored financing solutions to private infrastructure companies that contribute to sustainable transformation and support the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) - in the form of long-term loans, equity investments, mezzanine finance and bonds.

If required, we mobilise larger volumes with additional investors and arrange these individually for our customers. Our commitment sets positive signals and creates trust for further investors.

As a development finance institution DEG concentrates on investments in emerging and developing countries. The relevant list of recipients of the OECD Development Committee (DAC) can be found here.

We offer you tailored loan financings at matching maturities for your investments in the areas of energy, transport, utilities and telecommunications.

As an arranger of syndicated finance, we get further finance partners on board if required, enabling us to offer you the complete loan financing from a single source.

• Term: generally between 4 and 21 years

• Interest rate: fixed or variable, market-oriented depending on project and country risk

• Collateral: usually as the company's fixed assets in the country of investment

Direct investment

We also support your growth with equity capital. As a minority shareholder, we generate targeted positive momentum for the further development of your company or your investment, thereby strengthening your reputation. The stake may be taken at operational and holding company level.

Funds

Net zero infrastructure fund for transport logistics and renewable energy

In order to promote the transition to a climate-friendly economy, DEG is contributing to the Emerging Markets Infrastructure Fund II (EMIF II), which finances renewable energy and transport infrastructure and seeks to achieve net zero in its investments.

Expansion of wind energy in Uzbekistan

DEG promotes the expansion of green infrastructure in Uzbekistan and finances the construction and operation of a 100 MW wind power plant close to Nukus city.
