Automotive Mexico

In partnership with Rödl & Partner, the Business Association for Latin America e.V. (LAV) and ProMéxico, DEG invites German automotive suppliers to attend a meeting on Mexico as a production location.

Mexico's automotive industry is booming: production of vehicles was 2.88 million units in 2012, a new record after the years 2010 and 2011. On a global level, this puts Mexico ahead of countries such as Spain, France and Russia.

Its major advantages encompass a favourable geographical location with regard to the USA and the key growth markets in the south of the continent. Additionally, the 23 existing free trade agreements with 44 countries guarantee free access to major supply and sales markets. Renowned international automobile manufacturers have announced substantial new investments in the next few years.

In the context of the "Automotive Mexico" event, experts report from their practical experiences, presenting the opportunities and risks arising from the Mexican market for the German automotive industry. They provide response to all important questions on the subject of financing, legal advice and project coordination, which are the issues to be tackled before it comes to planning and construction of a production site in Mexico.

The event addresses managers and experts from SMEs with a global orientation that are responsible for development of a production site in Mexico or that are interested in this issue.
