DEG Expands ESG E‑Learning Platform with New Sustainability and Supply Chain Courses
DEG has expanded its ESG e-learning platform with a new set of sustainability-focused online courses designed to help financial institutions, corporates, and development‑oriented organizations strengthen their environmental, social, and governance performance.
The learning portfolio now includes three newly added modules:
- Gender & Diversity
- Sustainability Due Diligence in Supply Chains
- Sustainability in Digital Infrastructure Supply Chains
Developed by Enact Sustainable Strategies on behalf of Finnfund, these courses expand the platform’s thematic depth and support organizations in responding to rising global expectations around responsible business conduct and supply chain sustainability.
Learning platform to manage ESG risks
The platform was originally developed to make DEG’s and KfW’s extensive experience in managing sustainability risks accessible to a broader public. It aims to support financial institutions and companies in developing and emerging markets in identifying, assessing, and managing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) risks in line with international standards. By offering interactive, practice‑oriented courses, the platform helps users understand typical ESG challenges through practical examples, role plays, and case studies, thereby improving their ability to embed sustainability into day‑to‑day decision-making.
As sustainability risks - from occupational safety to waste management and site selection -grow in complexity, the platform serves as a practical tool to strengthen ESG governance across institutions. It is designed not only for DEG and KfW clients, but also for professionals in risk management, sustainability teams, corporate governance functions, and anyone seeking to align their operations with global environmental and social standards.
Accessible, High‑Impact Learning not only for DEG Customers
All courses on the platform are publicly accessible. With support from DEG Impulse’s Business Support Services, most DEG customers can use the entire training portfolio free of charge. Non‑customers may access the modules for a modest administrative fee.
The platform continues to grow as a reliable, practical resource for teams looking to strengthen ESG competencies, improve due diligence processes, and embed sustainability into organizational practice.
