This year for the first time DEG is promoting a literary series at the Cologne House of Literature. The readings focus on the topics of identity, migration and homelands.

The next reading in the "Fluchtpunkt" (place of refuge) series is on 31 May, this time with philosopher Julian Nida-Rümelin, who will present his new book "Thinking about borders. Ethics of Migration" ("Über Grenzen denken. Eine Ethik der Migration"), followed by a discussion. Nida-Rümelin will speak with Susanne Führer from the “Deutschlandfunk Kultur” radio programme about human values and norms in politics, and whether open borders alleviate or aggravate misery.
