Joachim Schumacher
Joachim Schumacher has been a member of the Management Board of DEG – Deutsche Investitions- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH since May 2023. Previously, he headed the East and Southeast Asia department at KfW Development Bank and was responsible for implementing cooperation in the areas of climate, sustainability and energy in the region. Schumacher had worked at DEG between 2002 and 2021, including as head of division Africa and Latin America and most recently as head of division Credit Risk Management. He studied Business Administration in Kiel, Bayreuth and Illinois and holds the degree Diplom-Kaufmann (equivalent to a MBA) from the University of Cologne. Among other qualifications, Schumacher completed the Executive Development Program at Wharton School.
