DEG invests in Mexican leasing market
DEG - Deutsche Investitions- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH is providing CHG-MERIDIAN México S.A.P.I. de C.V. (CHG-MERIDIAN Mexiko) with a long-term loan totalling EUR 20 million for the company to expand its leasing business. CHG-MERIDIAN Mexiko is a subsidiary of the German family-run CHG-MERIDIAN-Group with headquarters in Weingarten, Germany.
EUR 20 million for Mexican leasing company
Mexican companies are increasingly interested in external technology management. With financing from DEG, CHG- MERIDIAN Mexiko plans to broaden its range of services, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises. The company offers solutions for Mexico’s major automotive supplier industry, ranging from complete production lines to classic IT service financing of computers, printers and relevant software.
Modern technologies for local businesses
DEG’s investment is contributing to bridging the financing and technology gap and to further develop the Mexican leasing market. The leasing service offers companies the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art technology, while keeping down investment costs in production and administration. This offer is especially designed for subsidiaries of German companies, among others.
Finance for German company investing abroad
CHG-MERIDIAN, set up in 1979, offers corporate customers different services for managing information, industrial and medical technology, ranging from consultancy services for purchasing and including financing of technology and even the expert disposal of the used devices. The company has 23 locations across the globe and employs approx. 900 staff.
Mexico is one of DEG's priority countries. DEG set up its own office there in 2003. Around EUR 128 million of new commitments were destined for the Central American country in 2016 alone.
Mexico-Conference in Cologne
Mexico is also the focus of today’s conference "Germany and Mexico – challenges, opportunities and options", hosted by DEG and other organisations in Cologne. "Mexico is not only an attractive market, but also an important partner for us. Cooperating with Mexican companies offers many opportunities, also for German companies", said Gunnar Stork, head of division at DEG, in his welcome speech.
