DEG is once again demonstrating its commitment to personnel development and sustainability. Since 8 April 2024, DEG employees have been able to sign up for a new bicycle leasing programme that not only helps to protect the environment but also offers them a modern and sustainable form of mobility.

The mobility landscape in Germany is changing and DEG is playing its part, for example by providing suitable infrastructure such as bicycle parking spaces and showers for employees who come to work by bike.

Attractive conditions for company bicycles

The bicycle leasing programme offers several benefits: it provides valuable exercise and helps to avoid carbon emissions. Employees receive an employer contribution when leasing their first bicycle.

Heinz Piel, who travels to and from DEG by bike, is delighted at what the new programme has to offer: “Lots of people at DEG are already cycling to work. With our bicycle repair stations and the plans for more showers and lockers for bike commuters, DEG is demonstrating its commitment to bicycle mobility.”

Thomas Braun, mobility manager at DEG, sees this as an important step towards more flexible employee mobility: “Having already provided employees with a job ticket for local public transport, DEG is now offering them the option of leasing a bicycle. In doing so, it meets the different needs of employees, whether they choose to travel to work by bicycle, train or local public transport.”

This is yet another addition to the wide range of benefits enjoyed by DEG employees, which include flexible working time models, working from home, a diverse health programme, company sports groups, and special arrangements for employees with children or family members requiring care. These measures all aim to create a pleasant and supportive work environment at DEG, which has won several awards, including being voted Top Company 2024 by employer rating platform kununu. Since as far back as 2012, DEG has also had a certification from audit berufundfamilie, which is awarded to companies with family-friendly personnel policies.
