ACHT BRÜCKEN – DEG sponsors music festival again in 2019

As part of the ACHT BRÜCKEN | Musik für Köln music festival, DEG is sponsoring a concert by Tia Fuller Quartett, to be held in Funkhaus Wallraffplatz on 3 May 2019.

Tia Fuller's "Diamond Cut"

Tia Fuller was born into a family of jazz musicians and completed her saxophone studies at the age of 22 with "magna cum laude" honours. The festival homepage says: “"Fuller’s roots may lie in the soul jazz and Hardbop of a Julian "Cannonball" Adderley, but she skilfully brings classical jazz modernism up to date, charging it with funk and soul, R&B and HipHop. With her current quartet, the saxophonist pursues her own path."

"GroßstadtPolyphonie"

The ACHT BRÜCKEN | Musik für Köln festival is being held in Cologne for the ninth time between 30 April and 11 May 2019. Under the headline "GroßstadtPolyphonie" ("Urban polyphony"), the festival brings music from the concert hall into urban space - whether in a skater hall, a subway station, as a moving sound spectacle performed at different venues or on a ship. In addition to numerous premieres, various works by Greek-French composer Georges Aperghis, born in Athens in 1945, will be performed.
