DEG to host THE HERITAGE COLLECTION

On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the first free elections in South Africa, DEG will host an exhibition featuring works of the South African photographer Matthew Willman from 29 April to 09 May 2014.

For more than a decade, Matthew Willman documented the life of former South African president Nelson Mandela. Furthermore, his photographs include historic places and individuals that have together influenced collectively South Africa's past and present. Willman is an established photographer with a personal commitment to social issues. His striking images allow the viewers to gain unique insights into history, releasing them into a life of discovery.

Nelson Mandela

Matthew Willman worked with numerous charitable and funding organisations that include Oxfam International and the World Health Organisation. He portrayed personalities such as the Dalai Lama or singer Annie Lennox. The Nelson Mandela Foundation commissioned him to document the life of the "rainbow nation's" first president through the lens of his camera - one of the highlights of his work to date.
